The ‘Ancient Astronaut’ theory is just another religion for a technological age, substituting aliens for gods. 

Haunted by the ghosts of cities past, our brains swarming with the EM fields that permeate every aspect of our modern lives, our senses are continually warped and tricked; spectres and demons and aliens, all from within, not without. We create our fears, and our environment gives them life.

The only delusion is suborning your own reality to someone else’s.
